THE OPPORTUNITY: Enterprise Software Engineer

LOCATION: Ft. Meade, MD 20755










Job Description:



The Enterprise Software Engineer shall:









Design, development, maintain, and improve system software and applications for customer systems.






Assist systems engineers with the analysis of user and system requirements and constraints.






Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements






Use configuration management tools such as ClearCase for source code control and software release management






Perform unit and integration testing of software components






Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine and resolve system problems.






Develop software technical documentation including system/software requirements, design, code, algorithms, interface, and processes






Provide technical support to system integration efforts in the lab and during field installations.






Become familiar with all systems and follow-on-processors that customer systems interact with to the degree necessary to understand the full End-To-End flow of data, signals, and command & control messages.






Travel 1-2 times per year for one week periods each time for technical exchanges and collaboration with external development and engineering teams.





Required Skills:



The Enterprise Software Engineer Level l shall be required to have demonstrable experience (minimum 2+ years required) and proficiency in the following areas:










Computer/system software design and development for Linux and/or Windows platforms (5 - 8 years experience preferred)






SIGINT software development (2 - 4 years preferred)






Designing, coding, testing and debugging software written in C or C++






Designing, coding, testing and debugging software written in Java to include working with annotation and generics (2 - 6 years preferred)






Work experience using a JEE container (1 - 4 years preferred)






Experience in frameworks such as Spring






Experience with ESB/SOA such as Apache Service Mix or equivalent enterprise messaging technologies (minimum 1 year preferred)






Analyzing system specifications and translating to software requirements






Experience developing technical documentation for software components, must have good oral and written communications skills and should have demonstrated experience documenting software designs and source code.



Required Education (including Major): BS Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
